This chapter beings with Holden going in to Ackley's room and waking him up. After Ackley woke up Holden didn't let him go back to bed because he was venting. As he was talking he just kept getting more and more mad. This whole time he was talking about Jane. Ackley fell back asleep and then Holden wakes him up again and starts asking him a bunch of really dumb questions. After that he grabs his hunting hat, packed his bags, and left yelling sleep tight ya morrons.
This chapter makes me feel bad for Holden because he just gets frustrated and wants someone to talk to but he doesn't have anyone.

Chapter 6
This chapter goes on to tell us that Stradler is just arriving back in the dorm room from his date with Jane. He tells Holden that they couldn't get to NYC so they stayed in the car the whole time. While Holden is being told this he gets angry with Stradler. After yelling with Stradler they start fighting and Stradler pins him to the ground and punches him until he shuts up.
I feel bad for Holden because all he needs is someone to talk to. But I also think he is jealous of Stradler that he got to go out with Jane.

Chapter 5
In this chapter Holden goes to the Saturday night dinner, and afterwards him and his friend Mal have a cute little snow ball fight. There was a lot of people from the cafeteria that had one. After they throw snow around for a little bit they catch a bus with Ackley to go watch a movie. After they arrived they decided that since Ackley already seen the movie that they should jus tgo get some burgers. After getting back to his room he started writing about the baseball glove that he recieved from his brother Allie. Allie had died from lukiemia.
I think that this chapter goes from being happy and in a good mood to very sad. I'm sure that Holden takes his brothers death very hard. I also think thats the reason why he's always in a not caring mood.

Chapter 4
In this chapter Holden and Stradler are in the bathroom while Stradler gets ready for his date. Holden asks about who his date is with and Stradler told him it was with Jane. Holden had known Jane since they were young. After they leave for their date Holden kept thinking about about them being together. Then Ackley ended coming back to annoy him.
I think that if Holden still likes Jane that maybe he should try talking to her instead of being shy.

Chapter 3
This chapter goes in to explain that Holden lives in Ossenburger hall which is named after a very rich graduate from Pency that made his money from a funeral home business. As Holden was reading Out in Africa, Ackley kid barges in from behind the shower curtain to talk to Holden. Ackley kid was very annoying and disgusting. One of the worst habits that he has is not brushing his teeth. Ackley always thought he was great company, but in this case he just kept annoying Holden by cutting his fingernails on the floor when Holden kept asking him to do it over the table that way he didn't step on them in the middle of the night when he woke up to go to the bathroom. Later on Stradler, Holden's roommate comes in so Ackley leaves because he doesn't care for Stradler to much. After Holden and Stradler were talking, Stradler told him that he had a date waiting but he had to shave before he went.
I found this chapter rather interesting. I find it rather disgusting that Ackley wouldn't listen and kept cutting his fingernails on the floor because it was like a lack of disrespect. Its like Stradler came to the rescue for Holden also when he barged in because Ackley and Stradler don't get along.
Chapter 2
In this chapter Holden arrives at Mr. Spencer's house to say his good-bye's. He is first greeted at the door by Mrs. Spencer, and after they talk for a while Mr. Spencer gets out of the shower and begins talking to Holden in his towel. The whole time they are talking Mr. Spencer practically gives Holden the disappointment speech about his grades. Although Mr. Spencer likes Holden he kept reminding Holden that he flunked him and knew all along that he new nothing about History. Spencer even made him read his final paper out loud to let Holden know how stupid it sounded. Finally Holden decided that it was time to leave and go back to the dorm.
I don't think it was very nice of Mr. Spencer to keep rubbing it in Holden's face that he flunked because obviously he knew that he did it. He was getting kicked out of that school for a reason. Although maybe Holden needed to be told by someone different than his parents that he needed to try harder at school and maybe Mr. Spencer could be his motivation.
Chapter 1
In chapter 1 it gave us background on who Holden was and what he has all gone through. He talked about his brother and how he was rich and that he lived in Hollywood. It continues to tell us that he went to a school named Pency and that he was getting kicked out because he wasn't getting good grades. The only class he was passing was English and that was because he had done most of the stuff they were learning about in his old schools. Holden is leaving Pency the Saturday before Christmas vacation. At the end of this chapter he ended up walking away from the game so he could say good-bye to Mr. Spencer his History teacher.
This chapter gives us a good inside on what is going on in his life Now. I also like the way it explains why he had to leave the school, but yet he still showed that he didn't really want to leave because he was going to miss his friends.
