Ricky is still in a coma as Mark leaves the room. It was night time in the hospital and Mark couldn't sleep so he decided he was going to go roam around. He went to the cafeteria with the money that Hardy left for him and while down there he seen a guy with the name of Gill. Gill had two broken legs an arm in a sling a neck brace, and a bandage around his head. Mark found this interesting so he went and sat with him and comes to find out that Gill was also a lawyer. Knowing this Mark went back upstairs to the floor his brother was on, and was looking for through the phone book because he believed that he needed a lawyer while talking to the FBI. The FBI wanted to talk to him the next day. Well Mark left the hospital the next day and went to get himself a lawyer. Her name was Reggie. So Mark and Reggie walk back to the hospital to talk to the FBI.
I think it's good that Mark is taking the initive to do stuff on his own but maybe he should talk to his mom about the whole situation first. Reggie seems to be a nice lady and she seems willing to help Mark out with his case, pretty much for free.

Thursday 2/12/09
The Sway family along with Hardy arrived at the hospital where Dr. Greenway was going to try and help Ricky. While Greenway was trying to figure out what happened, he called Mark in to hear his side of the story. After he heard all that happened he said that Ricky has post dramatic stress and that he wouldn't wake for probably another day. While Mark was in the room with the doctor the FBI showed up to do finger prints of Mark's because they discovered that there was someone other than just Romey in the car. For the time that Ricky had to stay in the hospital the other members of the family were also encouraged to stay so Ricky felt secure.
I think that it was good for Mark to actually tell the truth instead of lying. I believe it made him a better person and it made him feel a large burden be lifted off his shoulders.

The Client
Pages 22-43
After Mark and Ricky witnessed Romey shoot himself in the mouth, Ricky decided it was time for them to get out of there. Romey was under a lot of stress with his client because he was a killer from New Orleans that was nicknamed The Blade, because he always stabbed people. One of the important people he stabbed was Boyd Boyette, a U.S senate guy. He hid the body under Romey's new garage floor. Knowing all this it put Romey under a lot of stress that he wasn't wanting to handle although he was a lawyer and they went through those kind of things. Mark ended up following Ricky back home noticing on the way that Ricky was running really funny and when he got home he crawled on the couch rolled up into a ball and sucked his thumb. Mark knew this wasn't normal and he was scarred for his brother but didn't want his mom to find out so he drug Ricky back to his room and threw him in bed. He left his mother a note saying that Ricky was in bed and that she ought to be quiet. Mark went back down to the woods because he called 911 to tell them what happened and he wanted to watch them investigate the scene. Next thing that you no is a cop comes up and scarres Mark. Mark didn't want to deal with the cops because he knew far to much about Romey but didn't want to spill the beans. He kept telling the cops a lie and so then the cop, Hardy, took him home. As he was walking in the door his mother was freaking out, not only about how late it was but also about Ricky. Hardy asked to see Ricky and explained that they should take him to the doctor because the last case he had seen the 8 yr. old boy needed lots of help. They rushed him to ST. Peters hospital by ambulance and all.
These pages showed a lot of different emotions. Mark was only trying to be responsible to an extint it wouldn't have hurt him if he would have told the truth. I don't understand why he wouldn't he could save many people from the Blade. Mark shouldn't have left his brother to be alone either because you never no what a kid that's depressed could do.

The Client
Pages 1-22
In the book The Client, there were 2 boys named Mark and Ricky. They were brothers that had a mother but no father. Mark was considered the man of the house because he was the oldest boy. The two of them wondered down to the woods not that far away from where they lived and they were planning on smoking. After smoking their first cigarette they seen this man trying to commit suicide. He was putting a hose on his exhaust and bringing the other end into the car. Mark didn't want to see someone do that so he snuck up and unplugged the hose from the exhaust only Romey caught him. Romey didn't like Mark for what he did so he was going to make him suffer too. Mark was one scarred little boy because he didn't want to die yet. Ricky was watching all of this happened so he went and unplugged the hose once again so his brother wouldn't die from in hailing the fumes. After Romey was taking a little nap Mark escaped and back to the initial tree they were hiding under.
So far this book makes you think a lot, but its really interesting. I consider Romey to be evil because he put a young boy's life in danger because he himself wanted to die.

Chapter 26
In the final chapter Holden explains that he went back home and was sent to the rest home and that he will continue school in the fall at a new school. He wished that he hadn't talked about all his past experiences with D.B because it makes him miss all the times he had along with the friends.
The whole time that Holden thought he had bad is now missing the times he had. Looking back on this book if Holden would have had someone to talk to the whole time he probably would have had a better life.

Chapter 25
In this chapter Holden left the Anotlini's house and went to the train station to stay the next night. When he woke kept walking up and down 5th ave. While doing so he was very nervous and kept yelling out to Allie. After pacing up and down 5th ave, he went to Phoebe's school to tell her to meet him at the museum. While at his old school he became very depressed and didn't like how he seen the words F*** You wrote on the walls. So he soon left and went to the museum and while there he also seen the words F*** You. While meeting Phoebe at their planned exhibit she was begging him to take her with and even packed a suit case. Phoebe was so mad that she gave him back his hunting hat, so angrily they both go to the zoo, but walk on diffent sides of the street.
I think that Phoebe needed to just understand that Holden wanted to go alone. But after loosing one brother I'm sure it was hard.

Chapter 24
In this chapter Holden arrived at Mr. Anotlini's house to stay the night. When he first got there the began to talk about why Holden didn't like Prencey. He said that the reason was because he didn't like any of the rules there, and didn't like the way they taught. Mr. Anotlini explained that many people were disturbed by little things in life but they faced the facts and got over it. Soon after their debate they went to bed. When Holden woke up he found Mr. Anotlini above his head stroking it awkwardly. Holden found this very weird in fact and thought that Mr. Anotlini was a Homo Sexual and hurried out of the appartment.
I find it weird that Mr. Anotlini would do such a thing to wake Holden up. I don't think that Holden wanted that kind of reaction out of Mr. Anotlini.

Chapter 23
In this chapter Holden called Mr.Antolini, an old English teacher, to talk. Mr. Antolini was surprised that he was kicked out of school so he invited Holden over to his house to stay the night. Holden then hears his parents walk in the door so he quickly hides in Phoebe's closet. After his mother left he said good-bye to Phoebe and explained that he was going venture out west to live.
I think that Holden needed to be re-accuainted with Mr. Antolini because it was one of his former teachers that he could talk to.

Chapter 22
In this chapter Holden actually got to talk to Phoebe and not be interrupted. Holden went on to explain himself and why he got kicked out of school. He kept saying how he hated school and failed all of his classes. They then begin talking about Allie and how Holden liked Allie but then Phoebe angrily reminds Holden that Allie is dead. Then Phoebe asked Holden what he wanted to do in his life and he responded with the song. And explained how he wanted to be the catcher at the end of the rye field if any little kids fell off.
I think that this is a significant chapter because for once Holden knew what he wanted to do. Now the only thing he had to do was accomplish it.

Chapter 21
In this chapter Holden is just arriving back at home. He was very anxious to see his sister Phoebe because he wanted to talk to her about everything that has gone on. Phoebe was so happy to see her brother that she just kept on talking non stop. She told him how D.B was making a new movie. Suddenly she had remembered that he is home two days early and then she kept telling him that father will kill you.
I think it was good that Holden and Phoebe were re united. Obviously it wasn't only Holden that was excited to see his sister. Phoebe was also excited.

Chapter 20
In this chapter it goes to explain that after Carl left Holden stayed and got very drunk. He even tried making 3 different dates. One of the most important ones was a call to Sally to see if they could meet up. After he was on the phone with her it upset her and her grandmother as well because it was so late at night. Holden went back inside after talking to her on the phone and tried to splash some water on his face to make him a lil more sober. After feeling the need to leave he went to the duck pond and while there since he was still wet he had some frozen icicles on his face. While this is happening he thinks about getting sick and dying and imaging what his funeral would be like. During this time he also tells us that he didn't go to Allie's funeral because he was "in the hospital" because he punched garge windows out with his bare hand. He felt terrible about not going and he remembers how he goes to the grave to put flowers on it. He is very low on money and wants to talk to Phoebe so he risks it and goes home.
Why wouldn't he just go home and say that he is on break or do his parents already no? I also don't think that he should have gotten as drunk as he did!
Why wouldn't he just go home and say that he is on break or do his parents already no? I also don't think that he should have gotten as drunk as he did!
Chapter 19
In this chapter Holden and Carl are having drinks. While having drinks Holden remembered how when they used to go to school together Carl always talked to the younger kids about sex. So knowing this Holden brought up the subject but Carl didn't want to talk about it so he tried avoiding the subject and he told Holden that he needed to go get help. Carl finally got fed up with the crap Holden was talking about and left.
If Holden wasn't so stupid about things he talked about maybe he could actually carry out a conversation without someone leaving him in the dust for once.

Chapter 18
In this chapter Holden finally built up enough courage to call Jane but it was disappointing when she didn't answer. So then he decided to call one of his old friends, Carl, and meet up for drinks later on that night. To make time go by faster Holden went to a movie, and as it ended up he hated the movie. It was about the war. After the movie he was on his way to the Wicker Bar to have drinks at 10.
I think that being with Carl and talking about old times with Holden will be a good thing. Carl sounded extremely smart so maybe he will get a little sense talked into him.

Chapter 17
In this chapter Holden finally meets up with Sally at 2 in the afternoon and he says that she was looking good. On the way to the theater they got a taxi and were making out on the way there. After they arrived at the theater to watch the play Holden became angry with them just like he did Ernie. After the play was over they went ice skating and this also seems to annoy him because he thought the only reason she wanted to go was to show herself off. While they take a break he begins to blow up at her about all the phonies in the world and she becomes very upset that he would do such a thing.
I think the date would have went well if Holden didn't have such a bad temper and wouldn't have yelled at her.
I think the date would have went well if Holden didn't have such a bad temper and wouldn't have yelled at her.
Chapter 16
In this chapter Holden goes for a walk after breakfast and on that walk he thinks about Phoebe. He wants to talk to Phoebe very badly but he doesn't want his parents to find out that he's home. He goes to a record shop because he remembered a record that he always wanted to buy for her so he was finally going to do it. Holden went to the park because he remembered that she loved to roller skate and figured she'd be at the park. She wasn't there but he seen a girl that knew him and directed her to go towards the muesum. He got there and became depressed so he didn't go in.
This was a significant chapter because its the first time the little boy sang "If a body catch a body coming through the rye." I think if he would have seen Phoebe he would have been a much happier guy even though she isn't as old as he was.

Chapter 15
In this chapter Holden checked out of the hotel and called Sally to make a date for later in the day. He was worried about his money, and says how his father hates when he loses things. This was also the first time he talked about his mother. He stated that she hasn't been doing the best since his brother Allie died. He also thinks that since she's not doing well she probably won't take his news all that well. After leaving the hotel Holden went to a little shop to have some breakfast. While he was there he met 2 nuns. He wasn't talking the best about religion so before they left he made them take $10 as a contribution and then suddenly remembered he'd need that for his date with Sally.
In this chapter I think that Holden got a taste of someone caring for him.

Chapter 14
In this chapter Holden was awake and just thinking about Allie and his possesions. Finally when he fell asleep the elevator guy was knocking at his door. Without knowing the reason he was there Holden answered the door and the elevator guy was demanding for Sunny's extra five dollars. Holden refused to give it up so the elevator guy pinned him to the wall and then while he was pinned Sunny took the money from his wallet. Finally after they left Holden fell back asleep.
I thought that the elevator guy was better than what he's showing in this chapter.

Chapter 13
In this chapter it explains how Holden walked 41 blocks back to his hotel. And on his walk back he thought about the gloves that he had stolen from him and he thought that whoever stole them was a coward. Although they were a coward he couldn't confront them because he was slightly afraid of it. After reaching the hotel he took the elevator up to his room. The elevator guy offers to send him a prostitute so as she's trying to her thing all he wants to do is talk. So she gets up to leave and he pays her the 5 dollars but she tried saying it was 10 but he didn't fall for it.
I don't think Holden was very smart for getting the prostitute although all he wanted to do was talk there still has to be someone else out there.

Chapter 12
In this chapter Holden takes a cab to a night club that his brother often visits. The whole reason that Holden went to this night club was to listen to Ernie play piano and it ended up that he wasn't even impressed by it. During his time at the night club he became very annoyed by the people around them and he called them phonys which he called alot of people. He then was chased out because one of his brother's exs was annoying him also.
I think that by this point he is starting to use the word Phony alot more. He also is becomeing alot more annoyed easier.
I think that by this point he is starting to use the word Phony alot more. He also is becomeing alot more annoyed easier.
Chapter 11
During this chapter all Holden talked about was Jane Gallagher. He could only think of how they always promised each other how they would be the best of friends and never do anything sexual besides hold hands. He also goes on to tell us that they would go to movies together and while at the movies they would hold hands. These two were very close and the way you could tell that from this chapter is when he mentioned the fact that she was the only one to ever have seen Allie's baseball glove.
I think that its sad him and Jane aren't as good of friends anymore. It gives me this feeling that Jane could've been the kinda girl that he needs to get through his life.

Chapter 10
In this chapter Holden still doesn't want to just sit around he wants to get out. So he ended up going to the Lavender room which is a dance club with drinks and a band. He thought since he looked old enough he could order alcohol but the waitress wasn't stupid and didn't serve him. After dancing with the three girls he met, he bought their drinks all night long, he ended up going back to his room alone.
While reading this chapter it kind of confused me of his age because i thought he was only like 16?!

Chapter 9
In this chapter Holden is getting off the train and is sitting in the train station and he comes up with this idea that he should phone a friend. He thinks of lots of people but his conscience tells him not to call them. He ended up calling for a cab to take him to the hotel. While in the cab he tried talking to the cab driver but he just wasn't having it. So after he gets to the hotel room that he's staying in he thought of a girl named Faith that he should call and that she should come over. She ended up denying him because she has to get her rest so he hangs up the phone without getting to see her.
I think that Holden shows his lonelyness in this chapter alot. I think all he seriously needs is a good friend. Someone he can talk to and share his emotions with.

Chapter 8
In this chapter it talks about how Holden is on the train and an older lady ends up sitting next to him. The older lady ends up to be a boy at his school whose name is Ernest Morrow and the woman is his mother. Holden goes on to tell her while sitting on the train that her boy a very popular boy at Prencey. After telling her this he goes on to say that he's the janitor of the school.
I don't think it was very smart of him to lie because it'll just get him in trouble later on in life. But then again with no one to talk to it's gotta be pretty tough anyways.
