The Client
Pages 22-43
After Mark and Ricky witnessed Romey shoot himself in the mouth, Ricky decided it was time for them to get out of there. Romey was under a lot of stress with his client because he was a killer from New Orleans that was nicknamed The Blade, because he always stabbed people. One of the important people he stabbed was Boyd Boyette, a U.S senate guy. He hid the body under Romey's new garage floor. Knowing all this it put Romey under a lot of stress that he wasn't wanting to handle although he was a lawyer and they went through those kind of things. Mark ended up following Ricky back home noticing on the way that Ricky was running really funny and when he got home he crawled on the couch rolled up into a ball and sucked his thumb. Mark knew this wasn't normal and he was scarred for his brother but didn't want his mom to find out so he drug Ricky back to his room and threw him in bed. He left his mother a note saying that Ricky was in bed and that she ought to be quiet. Mark went back down to the woods because he called 911 to tell them what happened and he wanted to watch them investigate the scene. Next thing that you no is a cop comes up and scarres Mark. Mark didn't want to deal with the cops because he knew far to much about Romey but didn't want to spill the beans. He kept telling the cops a lie and so then the cop, Hardy, took him home. As he was walking in the door his mother was freaking out, not only about how late it was but also about Ricky. Hardy asked to see Ricky and explained that they should take him to the doctor because the last case he had seen the 8 yr. old boy needed lots of help. They rushed him to ST. Peters hospital by ambulance and all.

These pages showed a lot of different emotions. Mark was only trying to be responsible to an extint it wouldn't have hurt him if he would have told the truth. I don't understand why he wouldn't he could save many people from the Blade. Mark shouldn't have left his brother to be alone either because you never no what a kid that's depressed could do.
