F. Scott Fitzgerald

research F. Scott Fitzgerald. What key biographical information can you find that will help you better understand his work? Hint: you will see overlaps between his life and what happens to his characters.
-He was born 1896 and died 1940. In 1917 he was enrolled in the army but was out of it in 1919.He started writing during the 1920's which is also known as the jazz age. Also during the 1920's he got married to Zelda and had a baby. He died at the age of 44.

Fitzgerald proclaimed: "An author ought to write for the youth of his generation, the critics of the next, and the schoolmasters of ever afterward." Discuss what you think this quote means and how it might be important to understanding this book.
-This could mean that he wrote for the younger generation of the 1920's because their the ones who will have to follow the lead of their elders.
